Belajar Tenses : PAST FUTURE TENSE

Untuk menyatakan suatu perbuatan atau peristiwa yang akan dilakukan dan terjadi di masa lampau.
Rumus :
a. S + Should/Would + be + ...
b. S + Should/Would + verb I + ...

untuk membuat kalimat negatif, maka setelah should/would diberi 'not'. Untuk membuat kalimat tanya, maka should/would diletakkan di muka kalimat. Contoh :
(+) I should play football the day before (saya seharusnya akan bermain sepak bola pada hari sebelumnya)
(-) I should not play football the day before
(?) should I play football the day before?

Time Signal pada past future tense adalah:
the next day (keesokan harinya)
the day before (kemarin)
the week before (minggu lalu)
dll

selain itu past future tense juga digunakan untuk membuat kalimat bersyarat, apabila syaratnya terjadi pada waktu lampau.
contoh :
- he would help me if I helped him
- we should watch television if we did not play football
